Using a combination of mathematics, language, and knowledge of the principles of land surveying, Surveyors are uniquely qualified to write a Legal Description of Property. A Legal Description of Property, also known as Metes and Bounds Description or Legal Land Description is a set of words that describes a distinct parcel of land. Typically, these descriptions are attached to the property deed of record during the sale or refinance of property after a Boundary Survey or ALTA Survey is performed.
